Tutor (Kagami Taiga x Reader)

But no, Kagami didn't complain; he'd say he actually enjoyed it. Not only did he finally understand the worst subject in the world (math), but he also got to sit with a very pretty girl almost every other day. At first, he was more than reluctant to comply (although his grades would have hindered his high school basketball career) until he spotted her waiting for him in the library. 

There was a skip in his step as Kagami arrived to practice that afternoon. Number Two, his infamous rival (which took shape in the form of a puppy), barked and ran up to his ankles, his puffy black tail wagging behind him. He barked again, grabbing Kagami's attention.

"Ahh, Number Two, have you been a good boy today?" Kagami cooed, and the dog barked in response.

His teammates watched in awe as Kagami knelt down to pet him. 

"Kagami?!"

"Kagami, you're not okay." Kuroko picked up Number Two and set him atop his head. 

Kagami raised a brow. "What do you mean 'I'm not okay'? I feel better than ever!"

"There's something on your mind."

"Basketball is on my mind!"

"It's a girl, isn't it?"

Kagami hesitated. How the hell did Kuroko know?!

"Is it your tutor?" Riko interjected. Kagami was surprised she wasn't strangling him right now. 

Kagami felt his face go pink. "Um-"

"You like your tutor?" Hyuga jumped in.

"Whoa, dude, I didn't know you had a love life!"

Soon, Kagami was surrounded by his teammates voicing their wants for him to make advances towards her. All of them, including Riko, were in on a plan to get the two together. 

Kagami knew his face was just as red as his hair.

The tutoring session was coming to a close, and Kagami was more nervous than he had anticipated. All he had to do was ask her if she wanted to hang out, which wasn't a hard task at all...

"Kagami?"

He froze.

"Are you okay? You look anxious."

"Oh, yeah," He nodded. "I'm fine. Totally fine."

"You sure?" She smiled. "Is it because of the cold weather?"

"It's not."

Kagami could tell she was confused, and he wanted to do none other than punch himself in the face. 

"Alright, well, I'll see you later!"

She continued towards the door. He was about to give up until all of a sudden-

"Wait!"

"Hm?" She turned around.

"I-I....I need to ask you something."

She smiled. Kagami felt his heart squeeze. 

"What is it?"

And then he felt his throat close up. He couldn't ask her, for some reason, he didn't have the ability to. Kagami, star first-year on Seirin's basketball team had the guts to dribble and dunk with all his might, yet when it came to a girl he was a blubbering mess. 

"I, um, I was wondering if you...you of all people...wanted to, um, go out and-"

"I'd love to, Kagami," Her smile never faded. "I actually know a good cafe we could go to for dinner?"

Kagami was internally jumping for joy.
